On March 4th of 2012, the creative worlds of Joe Mifsud and Pete Res of Midnight Brigade collided and spawned a beautiful new music. Meeting in a gazebo in Old Tappan, NJ, Mifsud and Res collaborated instantly, which led both to believe that they were onto something special. Having both been fans of each other's music and having shared the same stage at several shows, writing music together only seemed like a natural evolution of their friendship. The result of these two remarkable and quirky songwriters was Indie/Folk group Here For Now.

In less than a month, the prolific songwriting duo of Mifsud and Res had written ten well-crafted original songs and set out to record their debut album. With the help of their friends Scott Greenberg and Louie Aronowitz, Here For Now recorded "Letters Home" live at Pete's loft in two days and needed one additional day for a final mix and master. Fresh off of capturing the Here For Now experience in the studio, Mifsud and Res were eager to perform the music in front of a live audience.

On May 1st, 2012, Here For Now made its live debut to a receptive crowd at Starbucks Music Night in Nyack, NY. Despite having only played one show and having a limited repertoire, news of Here For Now's engaging and intimate live show had spread and allowed the group to continue their momentum by allowing them to book several more shows in the upcoming months. While the group enjoyed their newfound success, it was only a matter of time until Mifsud and Res would return to their respective musical homes. What first began as a hiatus eventually became a permanent disbanding of the group due to the increasing tension between the two frontmen.

On January 7th, 2013  on the Here For Now Facebook Page, Mifsud announced the group's demise while simultaneously expressing gratitude for the fans and mixed feelings for the group's end. In addition to his brief explanation of the group's break up, Mifsud offered fans a closure piece in the form of a There For Later edition of Here For Now's Letters Home. On April 6th, 2013, Here For Now- Letters Home (There For Later Edition) was released via BandCamp and made available for free download. In keeping with the spirit of Here For Now's communal approach, live video and audio of the group's performances have been made available online for free viewing and download.
